‘Wonders they say shall never end’ is what Biodun Alaka started with when asked about a near death incident which occurred Tuesday in his residence at 5, Similekun Steet in Epe area of Lagos state.
According to Biodun who spoke with Celvids News, “I went to buy fuel around 6.30pm in the evening to power my generator as light has not been regular in the area. I bought the fuel in a nearby filling station and was walking back home while listening to some music on my phone with my ear piece on”
“At about 6:50pm, I walked through the small gate and closed it behind me. As I was walking to the veranda gate of our flat, all I heard was a loud bang and as I turned, I saw the head of a truck inside our compound, very close to me!”
“At first I thought I was dreaming. It was when I saw people beginning to gather that I knew that it was real. I just thank God for sparing my life because that is how people just die anyhow in this country.”
According to other eye witnesses of the incident, the truck driver who was conveying granite to a nearby building construction site, lost control while trying to negotiate a bend and ended up running through a residential house fence.
Luckily, no one was hurt, however a Toyota Camry car belonging to the landlord which was parked inside the compound was badly damaged. The owner of the truck has been contacted as at the time of filing in this report and repairs have already commenced on the broken wall.
