“Mummy, make sure you buy something for me when you are coming back”! That is a statement i always hear from my daughter whenever i am going out. This is a common trait among children.
Even though they have asked you to buy something of your choice for them, inwardly they have preferences. Most kids would want parents to buy them ice-cream, sweets, and cookies most of the time.
Though it is okay to indulge our kids once in a while, parents should most of the time think about what is best for their children’s health rather than what they would prefer. It is a parent’s duty to feed a child with more healthy foods rather than more tasty foods!
Parents should compulsorily fill children’s diets with lots more vitamin, minerals, and body building foods. While not bothering so much about cutting down on their calories like adults, since they are at their growing stage, a lot more consideration should be given to keeping their immune systems in good shape.
Rather than indulging them in ice-creams and candies often, a lot more apples, oranges, and watermelon should be introduced into their diet. I for one, will feel better getting my daughter an apple from my outings than getting her a cup of ice-cream. I would rather keep the doctor away with that apple, than schedule an emergency visit to the dentist after consuming so much sweets and ice-cream.
Fruits and vegetables build up children’s immune system and help them fight diseases. They also keep common colds away and give good eyesight. Kids are more alert academically and otherwise when they eat right.
Parents should endeavor to make sure that a fruit or a vegetable is eaten along each meal. Fruits should also be part of their lunch boxes taken to school. Sugary drinks should be replaced with fresh fruit juice. Going for fruits in season makes it more economical.
Abiding by these simple tips will keep children healthy, strong and alert. It also keeps the family free from making frequent emergency visits to the hospital.
